Why Are You Feeling Unhappy
There are some days, when I feel unhappy. It's a crappy feeling right. But i think it's normal. Dili man pod nato pwede pugson na magpaka-happy nalang ta every day. There are even some days na mag scroll kog memes sa Facebook pero di gihapon ko mamuot 😟 . We also have to acknowledge our sad feelings sometimes, but not ALL the time because that would be unhealthy. When I feel unhappy, ako gyud ifeel, but after a few minutes, I do things to reverse this feeling. Like listen to my favorite dance music, or watch a funny movie (mostly Adam Sandler movies), or eat something sweet (or ug walay sweets then any food na makapa good mood nimo - ako kay pasas bleee). But why are we feeling unhappy? Have you thought about it why? Gusto ko lang ishare diri ang few reasons why I get visited by unhappy feelings, and if you ever had the same reasons too, touche!
1. Overthinking on things you can't control
We are just humans, we don't have super powers to control everything. If we had powers, wala na unta tay giproblema pa siguro karon nuh. Perfect example, is the opinion of others or the way other people see you. Honestly, yes I do have these days where I get easily affected by how others see me, or what they say behind my back. But then nig kahuman marealize nako, "Alkansi kayko ani, manong problemahon man nako ng paglantaw sa uban nako nga di man nato trabaho diri sa kalibutan ng magpa impress sa tanan?" Then after that realization, I play dance music hahahah and then I feel better. You know what we should focus on? Living for God, not for people's favor. Another example of things na di sad nato ma control is feelings - feelings of other people towards us. I know how at first, lisod dawaton ng ma reject, so sige lang ifeel lang ng unhappiness nimo diha. But then tambal ana sunod is acceptance, dawaton. Dawaton na mao gyud nay na feel niya, di man nato pwede pugson ng tao diba. So let go, and let God.
2. Negative thoughts
Di malikayan gyud ni ba. Ako gyud ani usahay lol. Although di man kanunay, and I do this because di ko gusto mag expect daan sa best, or sa positive, kay galikay kog disappointments. Sabi nga nila, expect for the worst, para andam naka daan. Pero it's not advisable to just assume the worst all the time, it will eat us alive. We have to be optimistic din always, we have to be hopeful. Ako kay ga practice pa ko ani, gihasa pa nako ning positive-thinking always. If ever it didn't turn out the way we wanted it to be, then dawaton and go to Plan B or look for another solution. Nganaon lang ang mindset, it's healtheir and it's challenging.
3. Paying attention to what we don't have
This is similar to comparing ourselves to others. I believe I have emphasized on my previous articles kung unsa ka unhealthy ng mag compare sa atong self sa uban. Whenever we compare kasi, we are actually focusing sa kung unsay wala nato or kuwang nato. We question if is there something wrong with us? Human ana, kita rasad nagbutang ug pressure sa atong self. Chillax lang my friend, our time will come. Siya naka abroad na, don't worry kita sad maka abroad ra sad puhon. Siya nakauyab na or mag minyo na, don't worry kay makita rasad nato ang para atoa puhon. Siya kay nakabawi na sa iyang pamilya, na iangat na niya, don't worry kay kita sad, makabawos ra sad ta sa atong parents ug family puhon. Siya nakagraduate na or nakapasar nas board exam, don't worry kay ikaw sad mugraduate ug makapasar sad kas board exam puhon. Sakit nako ni sauna gyud, pero salamat kay God, naulian rako. Wala nako aning compare2 or pag focus sa unsay wala pa nako. Mutoo na man gyud ko anang we have our own timeline, di ta pareha tanan. Nindot gyud ng God's will na.
4. Trying to be someone we're not
Ang hirap naman neto. Okay ra untag artista ta unya nag role play hahahahaha. But hello baby welcome to real life. Stop trying hard to be someone that you're not. Love yourself and be yourself. Ikaw ray hangakon anang magsige ug pretend. Nya kadugayan sig pretend nimo, you'll soon realize you're not happy because you're not being you. If tabian ka, then go, ayaw pugsa ng magpakahilomon lol. If hilomon ka, then don't try to change yourself na magpakabanhaan ka, kay you know yourself that that is not you. The only thing we must do regarding this, is try to be better than who were yesterday, ngana lang. If you were generous today, be more generous tomorrow. If you're learning a new skill, then praktisi napod ugma to be better. Patoo mo ni Justin Bieber - love yourself ngaaaa daw erst.
If you're feeling unhappy, reflect because you might be doing one of these things. If you are, STOP. After that, cheer yourself up, pamper yourself with good vibes and good thoughts, and you'll be feeling better in no time.
