Beauty In A Scar
When you have a scar, you automatically consider it as an additional flaw in your body. I have plenty of scars, both in the outer and inner being. I don't regret having any of these scars though. But the other day, I was working on my daytime job and had this conversation with one of my co-workers.
*Translated*
Co-worker: What's that thing in your eye?
Me: What? Which one?
Co-worker: *points at my eyebrows* That one.
Me: Is that dirt?
Co-worker: Noooo. *points at my eyelid's scar*
Me: Ohhh, this? That's just a scar I got when I was a kid.
Co-worker: Really? It's like a dimple in your eye, which looks good. It would've been better though, if the other eye also had it.
Me: Hahaha, nah, only one eyelid got that scar.
I never really expected that type of conversation about my eyelid's scar. I'm not offended about someone seeing this scar, but it's just that I almost literally forgot about this one hahaha! It's not really a big scar though; it's like a tiny hole sitting quietly at my eyelid. I don't even mind having this because it's just so small 😂😂.
But it never crossed my mind that someone would consider it a pretty addition to my eye. Now that I stare at it in the mirror, I kinda give it a quick acknowledgment like, "Hey scar, how you doin? Stay pretty. You're doing a good job!". You know, just positive affirmations to boost your mood and confidence. 😂😂
Nonetheless, even if someone may or may not consider your scar as a "pretty addition," you don't actually need their approval at all. Don't wait for someone to tell you something good about yourself. Go and tell yourself something good every fudging day. Embrace everything about you, even your flaws and scars. Scars are there for a reason. They hold a history, a history that made us who we are today. So, love every bit of yourself.
